How does remote recording work?

We start with your track

Whether it’s just a single idea you have, or a fully-developed recording with parts ready to record, we start by listening to your track. We can determine what is appropriate with you, and what you’d like to achieve together. If you don’t have parts written, we can write them for you. Then we prepare the file for us to record. If we are writing an arrangement for you, we will send a demo mockup for you to listen to.

Remote or not?

For interstate or international artists, we record our sessions at our own studios. For local artists and labels, we can record remotely or come to you. Depending on the requirements, this may be in our individual spaces, or together in the one studio. We record all our parts on separate channels so you’ve got the potential to mix every instrument how you’d like.

Digital Delivery

Once we’ve finished recording, we send your files digitally. A typical turn around time is 1-7 days, but can be as quick as an hour if you have pre-booked the session. You will receive individual dry recording stems of each instrument for mixing and adding your own effects on mics of your choice (see below), our own balanced stereo mix of the horns with reverb, outboard and plugin effects, and a stereo room bounce for adding ambience into the track. Often, we will give multiple takes of a recording so you have the option to choose your favourite.

If you have any special requests, just let us know, and we will do all we can to accommodate them.
